Color Palette Strategy
HighUtilize the slate-citrus palette effectively, ensuring contrast ratios meet accessibility standards. Primary slate color should be used for backgrounds, while citrus highlights can be used for key metrics to draw attention. Aim for a 4.5:1 contrast ratio.
Layout & Grid System
HighImplement a 12-column grid for a 16:9 ratio layout. Place KPIs prominently at the top for quick visibility, followed by charts in the middle for detailed analysis. Maintain 16-24px padding between sections, with 16-20px gaps.
Typography Hierarchy
MediumEmploy a typography hierarchy that emphasizes clarity: Dashboard title at 24-28px bold, section headers at 18-20px semibold, and body text at 12-14px regular. Use a consistent font such as Inter or Segoe UI.
Data Visualization UX
HighSelect chart types that align with the data semantics: use gauges for performance targets, maps for geographical data, and sparklines for trends. Limit colors in each chart to 5-7 and provide tooltips for additional context.
Visual Hierarchy & Focus
MediumCreate a clear visual hierarchy by using larger elements for the most important metrics and sufficient whitespace to separate sections. Employ conditional formatting to highlight key anomalies, using red for negative trends and green for positive.
Interaction & Feedback
LowEnhance user interaction by implementing hover states for interactive elements, with reduced opacity or subtle shadows. Introduce loading skeletons during data refresh and provide visual feedback for filter selections.
